Celebrate Juneteenth 2023

The focus of Virgin Pulse's Juneteenth celebration this year is the celebration of freedom. We encourage you to join us and spend 2.5 hours outdoors to symbolize the 2.5 years of freedom delayed.

What is Juneteenth?

Juneteenth is a federal holiday celebrated on June 19th across the country, marking the date when Black people who were enslaved in Galveston, Texas received word that the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed by President Lincoln on January 1, 1863. It would take 2.5 years for the news to reach the Port of Galveston on June 19, 1865. Juneteenth is considered a second Independence Day and is typically commemorated with festivals, picnics, and parades to honor the end of slavery in the United States.

Creating an
Inclusive Workplace

Virgin Pulse’s Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) strategy and efforts have led to the creation of several Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to engage our Black, LGBTQ+, women, and other employee communities. These EIGs have helped make strides in our collective efforts to create a more inclusive workplace.

We have made a multi-tiered commitment to revise our internal policies and procedures to create a more diverse and inclusive workforce by reimagining our job postings, candidate evaluations, and hiring processes to ensure we have adequate representation on the interview slate.

Songs of
Freedom & Protest

Music has always been a beloved aspect of Black culture. It has long been a powerful tool to unite Black people and it has also been an effective vehicle to share aspects of the Black experience with the outside world.
